NEGIOTIATING YOUR RAISE
Members and non-members of the International Association of Business Communicators may attend "Negotiating your next raise: How to be heard when it counts!"
A panel of human resources experts will discuss raises and answer questions at the April 10 luncheon.
The event will be at the UMB Financial Corporation Headquarters in Kansas City from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It's free and participants are asked to bring their own lunch.

DEPARTMENT, SOCIETY AWARD EVENT APRIL 10
The Sigma Tau Delta English Honorary Society and the English and Philosophy Department are hosting the departments' award reception April 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Union 237B.
At the reception, new members of the local chapter will be initiated. Awards will also be given at the ceremony to the English scholarship winners, achievement award winners and Sigma Tau Delta scholarship winner for the 2008-2009 school year.
NEW VERIFICATION SYSTEM
Students are now able to complete enrollment verifications through the National Student Clearinghouse for free.
Following are some features of the new system: print enrollment verification certifications and checking the deferment forms and electronic notification sent to lenders.
MAY 10 COMMENCEMENT
Undergraduate degree candidates can pick up their cap and gown for commencement May 10 at the University Story beginning Mon. April 7. Students need to bring their student ID.
Name cards will be in during finals week at the Registrar's Office. A picture ID is required.
SURVIVAL WALK-A-THON
The Survival Adult Abuse Center is hosting a Walk-A-Thon and cookout April 19 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The first 100 people can buy a "Walk for Survival" T-shirt for $5. The entry fee for the walk is $1, but donations will also be accepted.
