The Mules' and Jennies' ended their indoor track and field season by bringing home three All-American honors from the D-II National meet this past weekend in Mankato, Minn.
"Overall I thought we did pretty average," said co-coach Kip Janvrin. "I felt we competed well, but we could have done better."

For the Mules, weight throwers Dan Raithel, senior, and Drew Frizzel, freshman, placed fourth and fifth in the event, respectively. Raithel, from Jefferson City, Mo., threw a personal-best mark of 62 feet, 10 inches.
"I was really happy with our guys in the weight throw," Janvrin said. "Dan threw a personal best in his last indoor meet, the only bad thing was that he missed the school record by a quarter of an inch.
Frizzel, from Chillicothe, Mo., also had a personal best with a throw of 62 feet, four inches."
"Frizzel did awesome," Janvrin said. "He threw a huge PR (personal record) to get himself into the finals. With that throw, he went from not making finals to becoming an All-American. He stepped up when he needed to."
Other competitors for the Mules included junior thrower Jaban Moore in the shot put. Moore, who attended high school at Raytown South, threw 53-25. Frizzel also competed in the shot put. Frizzel's best mark was 53-5. Sophomore runner Kai Roper qualified for the 200-meters, but did not run due to an injury.
Haley Morrissey, a senior from Macon, Mo., was the lone All-American for the Jennies. Morrissey placed eight in the high jump with a jump of 5 feet, 5 inches.
"I was very happy with Morrissey," Janvrin said. "She has been to a lot of national meets, and this was her first time being an All-American.
"We talked a lot about how important it was for her to make 5-5 on her first attempt, and that was the difference of her being an All-American or not. I'm really proud of her."
Other competitors for the Jennies' were junior hurdler Chelsea Luck and freshman triple jumper Jenna Schmidt. Luck, from Jefferson City, Mo., ran a season best 8.72 in the 60-meter hurdles.
"I very happy with Luck," Janvrin said. "That was her best race of the season. Unfortunately it was not fast enough to make the finals. It was good to see her run her best of the year at nationals."
Schmidt, from Sioux Falls, S.D., jumped 37-3 in the triple jump to finish her season.
The Mules and Jennies will open their outdoor season today when the two teams travel to the Angelo State Multi Event in San Angelo, Texas.
