KIRKPATRICK PERFORMANCE SERIES BEGINS TODAY
JCKL is hosting an ongoing series of student peformances, called the Kirkpatrick Performance Series.
Student Adam Davies will be playing the guitar Wednesday from 1-2 p.m.
Graduate student Elaina Renee Toben will alsoplay the piano for the series. Her performance has not been scheduled yet.
The performance at the JCKL Performance Corner, on the south side of the circulation desk. It is open to the public.
UCM SPANISH WORKSHOP
The Office of Community Engagement is sponsoring Basic Spanish Language Workshops March 3-7.
At the workshop, attendants will be taught basic conversational Spanish by UCM staff and students in an informal setting.
The workshop is from 3-4:30 p.m. in Ward Edwards 2040 and is free and open to the public. All five days are not mandatory for participation.

SCHOLAR SYMPOSIUM APPLICATIONS DUE MAR. 7
Applications are being accepted for the 2008 Central Scholars Symposium, which will be April 7 and 8. The symposium is offered to all students.
Students accepted will have the opportunity to present their work in oral or poster sessions. There will also be opportunities to win cash prizes.
Applications are due March 7 and can be found at www.ucmo.edu/x100564.xml in JCKL 1450.
BRADY APPOINTED TO UCM BOARD OF GOVERNORS
Weldon Brady, Warrensburg community leader and UCM supporter, was appointed to the UCM Board of Governors last week by Governor Matt Blunt.
He will serve through Jan. 1, 2012, filling the seat of Jennifer Hill Nixon, whose term expired.
Brady graduated UCM in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science in economics. After graduating, he went on to be the senior vice president and chief lending officer at the Bank of Holden, owner and president of the Bank of Knob Noster, and a board member and former president of the Johnson County Area Economic Development Corporation.
