"Bowling is family affair, everyone in my family bowls," Caldwell said. "I never thought it would come to this, but when I made the Junior USA team it was like a dream come true."
"When I first met Bryanna she was a fiery competitor," said coach Ron Holmes. "She was in the Junior U.S. Gold Championship and enjoyed being in competition and that was key to her success as a bowler."
Over the past few competitions, Caldwell has finished in the top 15 and has been selected for two All-Tournament teams. With an average score of 203.1, this Arizona native is on the same pace as last year.
Caldwell helped the Jennies to a first place finish at the Arkansas State Duels, then helped defend their title as champions of the Jeannette Lee Invitational and a third-place finish at the Maverick Challenges.
"I try not to overthink things. I don't want to screw things up," Caldwell said. "I am determined and ambitious. I love doing what I do, and I always remain focused."
"Over the past few competitions, she has done incredibly well," Holmes said. "She has even been known to sacrifice a little of her own good, for the good of the team."
Caldwell is in a very good position right now; she could possibly be named Division-II Player of the Year. However, it would not be the second or third time she has been named player of the year, but the fourth.
She is the Jennies' leader in this category and has been on 22 All-Tournament teams in her career at UCM.
"She has the ability to focus well on what she has to accomplish," Holmes said. "It is simple, but a very elite level of skill, and her instinct makes her a better player."
"Bryanna makes such a good captain because she understands those aspects of the game.
