The Multipurpose Building doesn't look like the friendliest place on Earth, or even on campus.

When you compare it to the Quad that's surrounded by tall castle-like structures that give Central Missouri a feel of prestige, or to the aesthetic pleasure that is the Friendship Tower at night, it looks like nothing more than a giant tool shed.

Yes, some might say the Multipurpose Building isn't the most friendly looking building on campus, but Mules' basketball coach Kim Anderson would urge you to not judge a book by its cover, but by victories instead.

"We've been dominate in the last few years, and that's key to having a successful year," Anderson said.

Over the last three seasons, the Mules are an impressive 44-3 at home. They went 18-0 inside the Multi last season, and posted 31-home consecutive victories that spanned two calendar years. That streak was the longest active home winning streak in the nation until it ended last Saturday against Emporia State.

The Hornets were the last team to beat the Mules on their home court before Saturday. That took place back in Jan. 14, 2006 when the Hornets upended Central Missouri 86-78.

To put that loss and the home winning streak into perspective, the Mules' leading scorer in that game was Michael Hicks, and only three members from the Mules to see it were senior forward Paul Banister and junior guards Victor Lee and Nathan Frazier.

For most of the current squad, including the starting five, and underclassmen students at Central Missouri, Saturday was their first taste of defeat inside the antiquated, but amicable walls of the Multipurpose Building.

"Winning that many games at home is incredible," said sophomore guard Tremaine Luellen. "I know I have only been here a while, but its been something special to play at a place like this."
