Though her predecessor will be greatly missed, the Muleskinner is proud to introduce readers to Lora Powell, opinion editor. Stylish, smart and most importantly, opinionated, we salute you, oh Clinton native-oh, keeper of the open forum. Best of luck in a new semester of thoughts, compliments, boos and hisses-come what may and welcome aboard.
It's going to be hard filling Angelica's shoes, but as her successor, I have plenty of opinions that I'm not afraid to share.
When I started college in Springfield, Mo., I never would have thought I would end up at Central as a journalism major. Life changed for me then, but it changed for the better. Journalism appears to be my calling, simply because I love to write. Even more, I love to write about what I think.
Now for some random information. I never listen to the radio because I am obsessed with the music of the 1970s. I would much rather sit back and relax to Jim Croce and get up and dance to the Rolling Stones. I wear a lot of brown for no particular reason. I tell everyone it's because brown is the new black, but I really just like it. I love taking pictures. I sing in the shower. My favorite summer activity is going on float trips. I'm addicted to Diet Pepsi.
If you want to know more about me, don't be afraid to ask. Like I mentioned earlier, there isn't much I'm not willing to talk about. I am looking forward to this semester as opinion editor, and I hope I am able to enlighten you with my wise words.
