KMOS-TV donates to Angel Tree
Don Peterson, director of Broadcasting Services and Rosemary Olas, educational services and outreach coordinator, donated more than 500 children's books to Jacque Harris coordinator of Johnson Country Community Angel Tree Inc., on behalf of KMOS-TV. The Angel Tree Program provides Christmas gifts for underprivileged children in the Warrensburg area. This is the seventh year KMOS-TV has donated to the Community Angel Tree program.
McNair 2007 class deadline
By participating in the McNair Scholars Program, you can earn up to $2,800 doing summer research. In order to apply, you must be a first-generation/low income or a student underrepresented by ethnicity. You must be a junior by the end of spring semester 2007 and have interest in attending graduate school. For more information, contact Dr. Kari Azevedo at 543-4135 or 543-4061 in Humphreys 127.
Teacher Education scholarships
The State of Missouri is providing scholarships for students enrolled in a teacher education program. The application deadline is Feb. 15, 2007. Applications are available at http://www.dese.mo.giv/divteachqual/scholarships/index.html.
Grants and loans available
The Alumnae Panhellenic Association of Greater Kansas City is offering grants and loans to female students from the greater Kansas City area. Applications are available at http://www.kcpanhel.com/Grantsandloans.html and are due Feb. 17, 2007.
Free software training tutorials
Atomic Learning is a free software tutorial service provided by the Office of Information Technology and Instruction. To access the service, go to http://highed.atomiclearning.com. If you are off campus, go to http://www.cmsu.edu/centralnet/atomic_student.htm to get the user name and password.
PBW/USA Scholarship
Business and Professional Women/USA Career Advancement Scholarship is for females at least 25-years-old who have financial need and plan to graduate between Dec. 1, 2007 and Aug. 31, 2009. The deadline is April 15, 2007, and it is available at http://www.bpwusa.org/14a/pages/index.cfm?oageud=3381.
