The Jennies will finish their five-game home stand this Friday against conference rival Missouri Western at the South Recreation Complex.

The Jennies come into this game hoping to get a home victory before having to play five of their next seven games on the road.

The Missouri Western Griffons were shutout Sunday by No. 9 Washburn 4-0. The Griffons haven't won in their last six outings, dating back to Sept. 9.

The Griffons are not deep offensively, scoring only five goals the entire season.

The Jennies have hit a bump in the road as well. After starting off their season 6-0, the Jennies have gone on a three-game winless streak of their own.

"I expect other teams in our conference to have more confidence when they play us now and come more ready to play," VanDeusen said. "We've been very unlucky; everyone is giving it all they have, and nobody is slacking. We just need to find ways to get the ball in the goal."

The Jennies have scored only two goals in their past three games and were shutout Wednesday against Southwest Baptist.
The Jennies did have some very close opportunities in the first half.

The first came from Melanie Hall on a header that sailed just wide. The other came in the final minute when Carrie Twellman was denied by SBU's keeper.

Southwest Baptist scored both of their goals within the first eight minutes of the second half.

After suffering their second straight defeat, the Jennies came into Saturday's game against Missouri Southern determined to walk off the field with a win, but had to settle for a tie.

The first half ended in a stalemate. As the second half neared the end, Mallory Millburn scored off a restart past the keepers' hands.

The celebration after the goal was short lived. Ten minutes later, MSSU answered back with a 30-yard shot into the net. After two overtimes and a couple of close calls, both teams settled for a tie.

"We played a lot better in the second half of both games," VanDeusen said. "We're going to have to get back on track and play better in the first half. All of the effort is there, but we have to find a way to win."
