Celeb Status - The TABFL puts a new twist on fantasy games.

So you think you're up to speed on celebrity business? There is a fun, sure fire way to find out how much you really know.

Everyone knows about fantasy football. Maybe you have a friend who is addicted, or perhaps you are the one who has fallen to the will of the fantasy life. There is a new craze quickly spreading; it's the Tabloid Fantasy League.

The league was created by four friends in Kansas City, Mo. These four friends saw an opportunity to provide others the chance to have fun doing something that they loved themselves.

These four friends have compiled an elaborate catalog of statistics. They have the low down on over 2,600 of society's favorite celebrities.

The point of the TABFL is a pretty simple concept. Every week, figures are collected, and the celebs are ranked and scored based upon the number of times they appear in the four main tabloids. Those four main tabloids consist of In Touch, Star, People and Us Weekly.

After looking over the week's numbers, each player figures out which celebs they want to use to make up their all-star team. The TABFL is just like any other fantasy league, except this time the tight end could be your favorite full-of-issues actor or the quarterback might possibly be a head-banging rock star.

There are two ways to play the Tabloid Fantasy League. One is known as the FaceFecta. While the name is confusing, the idea is not. Basically, the FaceFecta is a game in which you, as the strategist, strive to pick the famous faces that will appear in the following week's insets and on the covers. If you successfully guess which celebs grace the covers, you become eligible to win a variety of prizes.

Tabfecta is the other option, and it allows you to get a little more involved. In this scenario, you become the "coach" of your own fantasy team of 12 famous faces. As a rule of the game, your "players" must consist of two actors, one model, one musician, two men and six wildcard icons.

During the course of each week, your roster collects points when they appear in one of the four top tabloids, but beware. It isn't all that easy. Be wary of your choices, they can lose points if they appear in the publication for a negative reason. You should think twice about picking the fashion challenged or that particular odd man.

In today's society, celebrities including hot actors, pop icons and model divas are plastered on nearly every billboard, magazine and television. Predictions can easily be made as to whose face we will be bombarded with next.
