Dale Carnegie Named to Hall of Famous Missourians
CMSU Alumnus Dale Carnegie was inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians at the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City Sept. 13.
During the ceremony, a bronze statue of Carnegie was unveiled that will be on permanent display in the third floor rotunda of the capitol.
University President Aaron Podolefsky acknowledged that Carnegie was one of the most distinguished CMSU alumni and was the first to obtain an honorary doctorate degree from the University in 1955.
'The Current' targets men and women's social responsibilities
"The Current" is an interactive and innovative way to educate students on dating with respect, asking for consent, communicating in relationships and preventing sexual assault, stalking and dating/domestic violence at CMSU. An interest meeting will be Monday, Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. in Union 234.
Harriet Woods to Speak at CMSU Sept. 26
Harriet Woods, a veteran of Missouri politics and a political leader on the national level, will speak about "The Glass Ceiling in American Politics" at CMSU, Sept. 26. from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Elliott Union 237B. Her appearance will be the first event of the Cultural Literacy Symposia sponsored by the CMSU Women's Studies Program.
Woods is the first woman elected to statewide office in Missouri.
Gov. Christopher Bond appointed Woods to the State Transportation Committee and the State Highway Commission in 1974. Later that year, she was elected to represent the 13th District in the Missouri Senate, where she served for eight years.
She was elected lieutenant governor in 1984, and in 1991 was named president of the National Women's Political Caucus, where she has helped elect a number of women to the U.S. Congress in 1992.

Peer Theatre on Campus Seeks Participants
If you are interested in acting while raising awareness of sexual assult, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking at CMSU, the Peer Theatre on Campus is offering students this unique opportunity.
