Central dean of Arts, Sciences becomes finalist at Texas college

Virginia Wheeless, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, has been selected as one of four finalists for the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs position at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
Wheeless and Elliott Pood, who interviewed at Central for the provost's job, will visit the Corpus Christi campus soon. The school has about 8,000 students and is located on an island.
According to the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, Texas A&M University received 52 applications for the position.
