Central Volunteer Service Day
Volunteer Services will be sponsoring a city-wide day of service from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 22. All individuals and groups interested in participating must register by 5 p.m. April 18 in the Office of Campus Activities.
Possible projects include: park beautification, street clean-up, painting, a car wash fundraiser and more. For more information, you may contact Kristie Brinkley at 543-4007 or kbrinkley@cmsu.edu.
Relay for Life
Warrensburg will host the 7th Annual Cancer Society Relay for Life, April 21 at the Warrensburg Middle School track.
The luminary ceremony, which honors family and friends touched by cancer, starts at 10 p.m. Luminary forms are available in Administration 203, Ward Edwards 1600 or Humphreys 225.
Spaghetti Dinner
The Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority will host a spaghetti dinner on behalf of the Special Olympics from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Campus Christian House, 211 S. Maguire St.
The cost for the dinner is $5 per plate, with all proceeds benefitting the Special Olympics. For more information, you may contact Tiffany Bedsworth at tiffbeds@hotmail.com.
Art Contest
The "Innovation in Art" Contest is accepting entries from now until midnight April 28.
The contest gives college painters a chance to win a $3,000 cash prize in addition to the chance to showcase their work in the U.S. offices of bioMerieux, one of the largest biological diagnostic companies in the world.
Students also have the opportunity to be reimbursed up to $100 for their art supplies upon receipt of their artwork submission. For creative details and complete rules, visit www.biomerieux-usa.com/innovationinart.
Mule Haul Leadership
Students are needed to volunteer as leaders for the upcoming Mule Haul, Aug. 20.
The Mule Haul is an opportunity to make connections with students and their families on move-in day. There are various shifts available, and each volunteer will receive a free T-shirt.
