The Mules' wrestling team will head east next weekend to take on the Southern Illinois State University-Edwardsville Cougars in Edwardsville, Ill.
The Cougars have had a disappointing season to this point, losing several close matches and tying several others. This match will be the team's last before regionals begin on Feb. 26.
However, Central's team will have their hands full. The Mules are also coming off a heartbreaking loss to Lindenwood University Feb. 3.
The loss put a stop to Central's winning streak, but there were bright spots even though the weekend didn't go as the Mules planned.
Plamen Paskelev led the Mules and increased his record to 9-0 with his win in the 197 pound weight class.
Wade Kilgore won his match in overtime, downing Lindenwood's Jason Moreno in a 3-1 victory in the 141 pound weight class.
Also winning his match was Adam Tieben who picked up a 4-2 overtime decision in the 157 pound class.
The Mules also struggled in the Missouri Valley Open Tournament last Saturday as they had no one finish in the top four places.
The team was lead in that tournament by Mike Carey who finished 3-2 on the day.
