Provost candidates named, visit campus

Finalists named for Central's provost and vice president for academic affairs are expected to visit campus next week.
The finalists for this position are Rita Duarte Marinho, dean of College of Liberal Arts, Towson University, Baltimore; George Wilson, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Central and Elliott Pood, dean of the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg.
Marinho will participate in an open meeting with faculty at 10 a.m. Friday in the Union Kitterman Room. She will also speak at a public forum at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Hendricks Hall.
Wilson is scheduled to participate in the open meeting and public forum Feb. 14. Pood will be on campus for his faculty and public sessions Feb. 17.
In addition to visits from these finalists, candidates for the dean of library services positions will continue to visit throughout next week.
The candidates for the dean of library services position are Jane Schille, Mollie Dinwiddie, Felix Unaeze and Wanda Dole.
All candidates for this position will give a presentation.
Dinwiddie, interim dean of library services at Central, will present at 2:45 p.m. today in Ward Edwards 2010.
Unaeze, library director for the University of Wisconsin-Superior, will present at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Dole, dean of libraries for Washburn University, will present at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 16. All presentations will be conducted in Ward Edwards 2010.
Schillie, director of marketing and external relations for the University of Miami libraries, presented Feb. 6. A tape of her presentation is available in James C. Kirkpatrick Library 2262.
