Government Careers

The Office of Career Services is sponsoring a workshop for anyone interested in a career with the government at 9 a.m. Feb. 8.

The seminar, titled "Careers in State and Federal Govenment," will teach students how to locate opportunities, navigate through the selection process and repay student loans.

Panelists representing a variety of federal agencies will be available to answer questions specific to their organizations. For more information, call 543-4985.



Spring Career Expo

The Office of Career Services is sponsoring the Spring Career Expo from 1 to 4 p.m Feb. 8 in the Multipurpose Building.

More than 115 employers are scheduled to attend, with 43 employers conducting campus interviews the next day.

In addition, the Office of Career Services will be offering all-day resume assistance and registration from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 6.

This will give students an opportunity to prepare a resume for the expo.



Writing Contest

10x Media is offering a national writing contest to find and reward exceptional writing talents.

The grand prize winner will be awarded $2,500 with $500 and $250 going to second and third place respectively.

10x Media, a Utah-based online media company is looking for outstanding writers.

To be eligible for entry, the participant must submit three original 300 to 500 word articles on topics assigned by 10x Media.

2006 Repertory Auditions

The Central Missouri Repertory Theater will have auditions for the 2006 summer company at 9 a.m. Feb. 11 in the Highlander Theater.

This summer's shows will include "The Music Man" and "The Odd Couple."

The audition is open to anyone interested. Each performer should bring a two-minute comedic monologue and 16 bars of song.
