According to surveys in countless publications, the number one resolution for people of all ages continues to be dieting.

For those of you who have made this your own resolution, whether you have set a target weight loss goal of six or 60 pounds, every body type should take a different approach towards reaching their goal.

The only common factor should be consulting a physician before beginning any workout or diet regime according to Lisa Becker, R.D.

By consulting a physician, he or she can assist you in finding a regimen that will target your problem areas.

The current popular solution to weight loss is the use of dietary supplements.

Approximately 30 percent of teen girls have used body-shaping pills, according to a study conducted by the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.

Not all the supplements found on the market have been proven effective or even safe.

The Food and Drug Administration in 2003 restricted the sale of pills containing ephedra after receiving more than 10,000 complaints of bad reactions, including more than 100 deaths.

Please take the above into consideration when working on achieving that new year physique.
