•The November issue of "Baseball America" included some accolades for former Mules players currently playing in the minor leagues.
The awards included Best Late-Round Pick for RHP Mike Phelps, currently in the Chicago Cubs organization.
Best Breaking Ball went to RHP Danny Powers who as a Mule was the 2005 National Player of the Year. Powers is in the Minnesota Twins organization.
LHP Josh Phelps was honored for intriguing background due to his pitching delivery, which is a product of biochemical and kinetic research conducted by his father. The purpose is to relieve stress on the arm. Outman is in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.
RHP Nick Webber, a second-round pick, was voted player closest to the majors, for the St. Louis Cardinals organization.
All four players were part of the 2005 draft that saw an unprecedented six Mules chosen.
•Senior wide receiver Delanie Walker and senior offensive lineman Darryl Grace have been chose to play in the 2006 Cactus Bowl in Kingsville, Texas, Jan. 6.
The game highlights the top seniors in Division II football. Walker and Grace are the 11th and 12th players chosen in school history.
