Our View
Time for a new beginning
Issue date: 12/8/05 Section: Opinion
As we say goodbye to another year, we reflect on the many events that have taken place.
This year, the world bid farewell to historical legends and leaders, such as Rosa Parks and Pope John Paul II.
Along with the mourning of great leaders, our country watched as the death toll of U.S. soldiers increased with each passing day.
When looking back at the year, the flag remained at half-mast.
This year will be one few will forget and historically could be labeled as a year of many tragedies.
As citizens of this great nation, we must look at the new year as a new beginning. A year in which new leaders will emerge and obstacles will be conquered.
For the victims of the hurricanes, the new year is an opportunity to not only rebuild their homes, but their lives.
When making your New Year's resolution, make one that not only benefits you, but embodies the idea of making a difference or impression that will remain for several new years to come.
Along with the new year comes a new semester at Central. For those of us returning to campus in January, we should take pride in what we do and what we make of our experiences.
