Friday is Veterans Day - Honoring All Who Served.

The Warrensburg Community, American Legion Post 131, VFW Post 2513, Whiteman Air Force Base and Central invite the public to attend the community Vetrans Day Rememberance at 11 a.m. Friday at the American Legion Building located on Business 50 East

Warrensburg events to honor local veterans include:


* Guest speaker for the program will be Rep. David pearce, reprsenting District 121 in the Missouri House of Representatives. Pearce is a banker with First Community Bank in Warrensburg. He served as director for the 500-member Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce from 1988 to 1994 and as a school board member for the Warrensburg School District until April 2004

The Central Service Brass Quintet will provide the music for the program. Color Guard will be provided by the Whiteman Air Force BaseHonor Guard.


* All are invited to a reception/luncheon following the program held at the American Legion Buliding. This event will be hosted by Military Affairs Committee of the Greater Warrensburg Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, 393rd Bomb Squadron and Central's Office of Community Engagement. The reception is sponsored by American Legion Post 131, Military Affairs Commitee, Bi-Lo Market, Parker's Supermarket and Heros Restaurant.


* A World War II Memorabillia display will be present during this program. Items were provided by Steve Cox.


* All are invited to recognize veterans on campus. Veterans are encouraged to pick up a Verterans Day button from the Office of Community Engagement, Union 224 or call 543-4156.


* A rememberance display will be available for viewing on the second floor of the Union to honor veterans. This event will be on display until Nov. 15.
