Central's president can add another role to his list of duties after changes were made to the president's role for the University.
Podolefsky's role has been redefined by the Board of Governors giving him the authority to approve all personnel appointments.
The changes were part of a clarification by the President and the BOG to better identify section A, the president's authority.
"In the past, the president recommended an appointment," said Jeffrey Robinson, Board of Governors policy officer.
After the recommendation, Robinson said the BOG would make their approval.
"The reality," said Robinson "was the old process would not work."
"This is a big change. But it was more about clearing it up and making the process realistic."
Podolefsky said his previous experiences in higher education have prepared him for the role of approving employee recommendations.
The difficulty comes when a college or university make job offers.
This change will allow for the BOG to make recommendations idea is to give the president the approval once job have been offered.
